Giuliani Discovers WMDs

From Rudy Giuliani’s speech tonight:

Frankly, I believed then and I believe now that Saddam Hussein, who supported global terrorism, slaughtered hundreds of thousands of his own people, permitted horrific atrocities against women, and used weapons of mass destruction, was himself a weapon of mass destruction.

So it looks like we did find those WMDs after all - they were hidden in a spider hole.

NY1

For those of you with Time Warner cable service in New York (sadly, I am not among you), I’ll be appearing on New York One’s “Inside City Hall” tonight at about 7:30 to discuss media coverage of the runup to the Republican convention (or whatever the host decides to throw at me - hopefully no jokes about monkeys). You can also listen to the audio live via the magic of the webnet.

CNNfn/Air America

I’m scheduled to do two interviews tomorrow (the 25th): The first, on CNNfn, at 11:20 AM, discussing the media’s coverage of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and the second, at 9:15 PM, on “The Majority Report” on Air America radio with Janeane Garofalo and Sam Seder.

On the Media

I was on NPR’s “On the Media” this weekend - due to technical difficulties (ie, a major hard drive failure) I wasn’t able to blog it in advance. Fortunately, the good people at WNYC have posted the interview online for your listening pleasure (RealAudio). And a transcript should be available on Tuesday.

CSPAN Panel

The panel I moderated last Tuesday is airing tonight on CSPAN at 8:40 PM and 11:40 PM Eastern, and, for those of you who get up way earlier than I do, again at 5:30 AM.  It’s less exciting than the Daily Show, but nonethless features soundbites about the future of blogs and politics, me facing off against Jeff Jarvis in a steel cage death match over why there are so few female political bloggers, and an audience question about robot blogs.

The Daily Show

Just back from taping the Daily Show. For all those playing along at home: No, I had no idea the monkey thing was coming.

To all my friends: I haven’t changed a bit.

For producers: You know where to find me.

And you know, I do parties, too ...

I’m Just the Son of a Millworker . . .

Dan Radosh weighs in on the panel I moderated last night about blogs and politics - actually, more about the panelists than the panel:

Keefer: Pretty boy, but on the ball. The John Edwards of the blogosphere? (a word I used far too much last night; couldn’t I at least have said Interweb?)

Jarvis: A regular soundbite machine on the democratizing power of blogs, but in the clear light of morning, admits it’s all about the Lohanboobies.

Sealey: Picture doesn’t do her justice. AMC, Lindsay, Spiers, Jess… now this? How the hell did female bloggers get so hot? (Also had some stuff to say about politics and journalism I guess.)

There are some slightly cryptic notes on the panel here, and I’m told it may air on CSPAN at some yet-to-be-determined point in the future.

Me On The Daily Show

I’m slated to be on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central this Thursday, August 12, plugging my new book. It airs that night at 11 PM Eastern (10 Central), and is repeated again Friday morning at 10 AM and again at 7 PM. For all those wondering what I look like in person (or at least under the hot glare of studio lights with lots of makeup on), here’s your chance!

Morning Sedition

For those of you surfing early (or late), I’ll be on Air America’s ”Morning Sedition” plugging my newly-published book, and probably discussing the whole Kerry/Swift Boat Veterans Against Kerry bit, at 8:30 AM eastern on Friday. You can listen to it online as it happens.
